Interview Quotes:

“People ask me all the time “Does your husband like staying home?” Because he’s a Type-A and has his MBA, and he never thought this is what he’d be doing with his MBA. The answer is sometimes yes and sometimes no. It’s always a balance, and we’re always checking in going, “Do we still like how this works? Is it good for us? Are we happy?” Because nothing in this life is easy, and no decision that we make is just going to fit us all the time.”

– Alli Worthington

“One of the most important things we can do is make a “stop doing” list.”

– Alli Worthington

“So much of what we think are societal norms is just pressure we put on ourselves. Stay-at-home moms feel like working moms judge them, working moms feel like stay-at-home moms judge them, right? . . . I wonder if we think there are all these norms out there that we should be following and that other people are judging us or questioning what we do, when really everybody’s just trying to survive their own life.”

– Alli Worthington

“I think that for us as Christian women, especially, there is a bit of guilt over seeking happiness. We have believed the lie that happiness is of the world and that we should be meek and joyful, but that is not scriptural. That’s not something that God has ever told people.”

– Alli Worthington

“This discipline of being human beings and not human doings, and just sitting with it—it seems so counterintuitive. And yet that is what research is showing us. It gives us that inner happiness which, to me, it’s representative of a state of our soul.”

“One of my best tips for balance and protecting my happiness is just not being on social media. So if there’s a day when I’m not necessarily emotionally healthy, whether I have PMS or I’m annoyed about something, I don’t allow myself to go on it. Because I realized the more I used it, the less happy I was.”

– Alli Worthington

Meet Kristin

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

I'm on a mission to love my neighbors. I put an ordinary picnic table in my front yard, painted it turquoise and invited neighbors, friends, and even strangers to hang out and do life together at the Turquoise Table®.

I hope you'll join us!

Winter wonderland in #atx 🤷🏻‍♀️❄️🙌🏽
Said goodbye to 2020 and welcomed 2021 in our happ Said goodbye to 2020 and welcomed 2021 in our happy place @ymcarockies We’ve packed it all in— sledding, skating, hiking, vision boards, celebrated our 23rd anniversary, and kicked off the New Year this morning with a 5k. I even found time to sit and stitch by the fire.

Sure feels like we are making up for lost time and setting our hope for the year ahead. Happy New Year friends!!

We’ve never been here the week between Christmas and NYE and we’re excited to explore in the snow. ❄️ I’m already laughing at our summer stash of clothes we keep here —cotton leggings, hoodies, and fishing boots. Feel free to laugh with and at me. Also winter friends—give me all your tips.

12 Days of Christmas Day 12: 🌟 The Christmas St 12 Days of Christmas Day 12: 🌟 The Christmas Star

Tomorrow (12/21), just after sunset, the heavens will perform a rare show. Jupiter and Saturn will cross paths in the night’s sky and appear to shine as one bright star. The Bethlehem Star, scientifically called the “great conjunction,” will be visible for the first time in 800 years.

On this winter solstice, the shortest day of the very longest year, step outside, look up and feast on JOY as heaven and nature sing. ✨

“O Father may that Holy Star
Grow every year more bright,
And send its glorious beams afar
To fill the world with light.”
