The holidays are here. Whether you travel over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house or enjoy a house-full of extended family in your home, chances are you’ll be blessed with the gift of family time.
Game on, friends!
People who laugh together … stay together. Who doesn’t need more laughter during holiday gatherings?! The holidays are full of tradition, but sometimes you need shake things up a bit. I was on the search for ways to keep our family lingering a little longer and found three super fun games. With teenagers, planned activities can be tricky, so I knew we had to be selective. These three no cost family Christmas games are spot on!
My favorite is the Cookie Monster Challenge! I’ve decided there are no calories in cookies used for this challenge. Agree?
Join me and my friend, Natalie, as we demonstrate three fun holiday games. Laughter and play create connection and these simple (and hilarious) interactive games will break the ice at any gathering.
No Cost Family Christmas Games
1. Cookie Monster Challenge
Needed: 2-inch cookie per person
Place a cookie on your forehead. Without using your hands move the cookie on your face from your forehead into your mouth!
2. Dynamic Duo Gift Wrap Challenge
Needed:
- Wrapping paper
- Scissors
- present
- tape
Have participants pair off. Tie one person’s right hand to their teammate’s left hand. The duos will then attempt to wrap a gift using their free hands. Have an example gift for everyone to attempt to duplicate — the harder it is to create, the funnier. Give a time limit of 1–3 minutes and then have a judge pick the most accurate gift.
3. Fluffy Frosty
Needed: Mini marshmallows, approximately 1/4 bag per person
How to Play: The player who fits the most marshmallows in their mouth wins!
