Our 1st grader is Star of the Week at school. She started the week by sharing favorite photographs of herself and the rest of the family with her classmates. When she was choosing from the photos I had pulled for her, she skipped right over this one. Of course, it’s my favorite. It was taken this summer in southern California. She doesn’t like it because ‘you can’t see me’. I love it for how much of her I can see.
Keeping with Star of the Week tradition, Husband & I joined the 1st graders today and read the following letter to our precious Little. And because mother’s always have the last word, of course I attached the picture.
Dear Ellie,
We are so proud of our STAR!
Did you know God made more stars in the sky than we can count?
But He only made ONE You. You are one of a kind.
E is for the enthusiasm you show in everything you do
L is for loved because you are by friends and family too!
L is for your laughter which is loud and makes us smile
I is for intelligent – you are smarter than the longest mile.
E is for exact because you are perfect in His sight
You are exactly how God planned you and we love you with all our might.
Love, Mommy & Daddy
