I think the Lord wants me to hear a thing or two about Faith today as it is the central theme of both my Bible study lesson and the daily devotional I’m reading. I love it when the message is so clear I can’t miss it. And I’m grateful I didn’t need a whack over the head with a 2×4 to see this one.
Lamplighters, the women’s Bible study I attend, resumes next week after a long(ish) break for the holidays. We are scheduled to pick up our study in Chapter 10 of Hebrews, but this morning I skipped ahead to my favorite part of the entire book. Chapter 11 verse 1.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for
and certain of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
Later in my devotional reading, Common Prayer, A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals, I read this quote by Frederick Buechner:
“A Christian is one who points at Christ and says,
‘I can’t prove a thing, but there’s something about his eyes and his voice.
There’s something about the way he carries his head, his hands,
the way he carries his cross
– the way he carries me.'”

I have Faith on my heart today. What about you?
Love,
