Today is not our anniversary, but as we sang Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee in church this morning, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the man sitting by my side all over again. Husband & I celebrate our wedding anniversary on New Year’s Eve (it’s been twelve!) and the familiar hymn has a special place in my heart as the processional for our marriage ceremony. I know most bride’s walk down the aisle to a more traditional wedding march, but given my propensity to veer from traditional I chose Beethoven’s uplifting Ode to Joy. Afterall, I was a joyous bride and it was New Year’s Eve!
This was not the version of Joyful, Joyful that played at our wedding, but I love Casting Crowns rendition of the hymn and hope you will too.
Be blessed with a joyful week!
how ironic is it that I have been brainstorming a way to fit this song into the wedding…. so special 🙂
