About this time of year, I begin pulling tattered and stained recipes from an old recipe box. I know each Thanksgiving recipe by heart, but my math can get kind of fuzzy, so I double check quantities. My mind can wander, so I double check to make sure I have a list of all the ingredients for the feast. Despite my list, I always seem to make “one last trip” to the grocery store.
I haven’t reached for the recipe box yet this year. Or tried to double or triple the recipes depending on how many people we’ll be blessed to have gathered ’round our table.
I have a Thanksgiving wish for our family – that we would linger a little longer at our table. That instead of rushing through the feast in twenty minutes, we would settle in with elbows propped and ears tuned. That instead of joking about needing elastic pants, we would encourage expandable hearts.
Food may bring people to the table, but it doesn’t keep them there. Love does.
Earlier this week, at a National Charity League meeting, we used this fun Thanksgiving Trivia as the ice breaker. I teamed up with my friends Kimberley and Claire and we got down right competitive I was surprised by how fun and meaningful the game was. So, I thought I’d share.
We’ll be using the trivia game around our Thanksgiving table this year. And, I have another fun conversation printable for you in The Turquoise Table Community Newsletter that comes out tomorrow. Be sure to sign up if you haven’t already.

Pat, I hope your sons enjoy! I just realized I posted the answers so my family may ALL be winners! 😉 As long as we linger a little longer, right?
