Has everyone seen The Blind Side but me? Husband and I don’t get out much to see movies, so we were thrilled when the film came out this week on appleTV.
The Blind Side is not what you would expect from Hollywood. It’s not high drama, action packed, or even a thriller movie. Rather I felt like I was curled up on the couch with the characters as they shared their testimony. Tim McGraw is charming, Quinton Aaron inspiring, and Sandra Bullock is so believable I half expect her to show up for coffee and to join me on my walk this morning. I identified with Bullock’s character Leigh Anne Tuohy so much it was at once haunting and encouraging. (Except for the thin, rich and beautiful part!)
Watching the movie stirred up a wide range of emotions from the passion of college football to our own adoption journey. Mostly I’ve been wondering about the Michael Oher’s in my life. Do I notice them? What have I done to make a positive impact on someone else’s life? When was the last time I put Matthew 25:40 to action?
Most of us will never have a major motion picture made based on our story. Even fewer will know the honor of winning an Oscar. But if the award we aspire to win for our earthly role is the reward of heaven, it begs the question:
What are you doing with your ordinary life to be extraordinary for Him?

When the TRAILER makes me cry…oh my.
I need to go get this today.
