First, a wee little bit of housekeeping.
{I said that in my best Mrs. Patmore voice. I love Downton Abbey.}
Yesterday, Susie & I were so giddy to send out our first 52 Sunday Suppers menu, we forgot the maple syrup. 2 whole tablespoons sadly omitted from the Lemon-Maple Vinaigrette recipe. We caught the mistake and updated the printable PDF on our sites, but not before the post was sent to email subscribers. If you receive my posts via email the PDF link is incorrect. Please forgive? Here’s the link again to make it easy to print the PDF of this week’s menu.

I love the conversation starter, “What was your favorite meal?”
Every time I hear stories in response to this question, the details include not only the food, but the spaces and faces surrounding the shared meal.
The goodness of food is intimately connected with the the relationships represented around the table.
Think about one of your favorite meals. I’d love to hear what graced your plate, where you were, and especially who you were with and the occasion that brought you to the table.
Yesterday, I was searching for a recipe and stumbled upon this blog post I wrote in April of 2006, entitled Sunday Supper. Two-thousand and six! As I read the words, my heart and mind traveled back to the sweet space in time. Littlest wasn’t even a twinkle in Husband’s eye and the Littles were truly Littles. I had all but forgotten the meal I wrote about, until I re-read the story.
I have many favorite meal stories, but today I’ll kick off the conversation by inviting you to read Sunday Supper.
Oh, and that picture of my Little eating chocolate cake? She turns ten next month! This photo was taken at the farmhouse table in the Texas Hill Country at the ranch I write about in my Sunday Supper story. That chocolate cake all over her face was so delicious, I believe it’s my duty to share my version with you tomorrow. 🙂
Your turn! Tell me your favorite meal. You can share here in the comments or on our 52 Sunday Suppers facebook page.
Can’t wait to hear your stories. . .
Love,

Growing up, we went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house for lunch every Sunday after church. My favorite meal was chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, macaroni with stewed tomatoes (a dish I just can’t get right), fried okra, and chocolate pie for dessert. One of Grandma’s gifts was knowing what your favorite thing was and having it for you, like my favorite pickles in the relish tray. Everyone there felt like her favorite.
