Wherever our travels take us, the first place I seek is the local Farmers Market. There’s no better place to find the heartbeat of a community than in its markets.
For my monthly column at the HomeAway Vacation Rental Living blog, I wrote a travel guide of my favorite 5 farmers markets. Deciding which markets to include was the hardest part. I managed to narrow the list to five markets covering diverse regions of the United States.
In the guide you’ll find helpful information for navigating each market, restaurant recommendations for local farm fresh food, and favorite regional recipes. The awesome folks at HomeAway added vacation rental suggestions near each farmers market, so you’ll feel right at home as you travel to these destination hot spots.
Want to know which farmers markets made the Top 5 list? Hop over to the HomeAway community blog and find out. And, let me know which market you’d most like to visit.

LOVE the Santa Fe FM! Squash blossoms, sage smudge sticks, marigold crowns and leis. In addition to the stunning abundance of produce. It all feels so exotic.

Have been to four out if five of these markets. Great job on selecting these. Toss up between Seattle and Santa Fe. These two markets are so different, but going with SF!
Great suggestions.
