Little Cabin in the Woods {YMCA of the Rockies}

Sometimes you pick a vacation destination.
Sometimes it chooses you.

Our “Y” story began with a very ordinary email conversation. One February night, a friend and I were comparing summer activity options for our children. The email exchange went something like this:

That sounds like a fun camp, but we’ll be in Colorado that week.

Me: Where are you going in Colorado? We’re thinking about going this summer too.

The YMCA of the Rockies.

Me: I’ve heard such great things about the YMCA. We even tried to rent a cabin once, but everything was booked.

We are actually donors of a cabin. I’m working on summer reservations now. We’d love for you to rent our cabin, but I need to know in the next 2 days.

Me: Is the fishing any good? If Husband can fly fish, we’re in.

I closed my laptop and rolled over to Husband who was already half asleep in bed beside me. “Honey? Wanna go to the YMCA of the Rockies this summer?”

~

I’m sharing our “Y” story adventures at the YMCA of the Rockies blog today. Come join me and hear the rest of the story. . .

    I love your story, and I know y’all love this special place. All stories have beginnings…..right?

Meet Kristin

Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.

I'm on a mission to love my neighbors. I put an ordinary picnic table in my front yard, painted it turquoise and invited neighbors, friends, and even strangers to hang out and do life together at the Turquoise Table®.

I hope you'll join us!
