If I were Paul, I would have commissioned the first century Christians with this song.
Good thing I’m not Paul.
Ready to Go is the 2K-11 theme song from TBarM Summer Camps. I took this video at the closing day ceremonies when we picked the Littles up after their week at camp. We’ve been jumping up and down, dancing and singing Ready to Go all summer long. And by ‘we’ I mean me.
The context for Ready to Go is 2 Timothy 4:2. What Paul says to his disciple Timothy is to faithfully carry on the mission that the Lord has given him. Paul knows that his time left on Earth is short – he has kept the faith, fought the good fight. In his last letter to his dear friend, Paul encourages and instructs Timothy to overcome all obstacles to spread the gospel – the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Preach the Word;
be prepared in season and out of season;
correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction.
Because I really want you to jump up and down, dance and sing with me, I’m going to give away a copy of my favorite summer song Ready to Go from iTunes. You can listen to a preview by clicking the album cover above. You really should just go ahead and buy the song, but if you’d rather test your luck first by leaving a comment and telling me your favorite song of the summer, I’ll pick a winner from the comment section on Friday.
Just to be clear, all you have to do to win a free copy of the song Ready to Go is leave a comment telling me your current favorite song. How ’bout that?
I also happen to know all the dance moves to the song, but those are not included in the give-away. You’ll have to pay extra for that! 🙂
I’m ready to go, are you?
Love,
Kristin

Like you, I have been singing this song and many others from this CD. Not only is it teaching them the Word but it is a great way to start another crazy school year.
That being said, I think my favorite song of the summer is “Blessings” by Laura Story. With all of the things life entails, I have found that song more and more fitting for my (and my friends’) life.
Love you, Kristin, and thank you for spreading Christ’s light

I love Blessings too. But I bawl every time it comes on the radio. I guess that’s a good thing, huh? Love you, too, friend!
